A mining of the ore containing copper, tin, silver, lead and iron, belongs to this country since forever. Later also a mining of the cobalt, nickel and tungsten followed. In the course of centuries, people were arriving to explore and to mine, and thanks to a maintained tradition of the ore mining you have a rare opportunity to experience the medieval atmosphere of mines. Take a look into old times, when the precious metals were mined in a primitive and dangerous way, and follow a trail more than 800 years old. Among the most important deposits belong Cínovec, Krupka, Měděnec, Přísečnice and Kovářská.
Nowadays, a mining production in the region slowly fades away, but you can enjoy an atmosphere of the past in museums and their permanent exhibitions.
