Traditional region

Podbrdsko and Central Povltaví Region

On one side, woods and hills with many former mining villages surround Vltava, and the second riverside is slightly wavy, with small villages and mansions. Traditions in this region are as various as the landscape itself. Never-ending labour, which is mining and panning for gold and silver. On the contrary, endless inspiration, beauty and lightness are both Antonín Dvořák's and Jan Jakub Ryba' work, which these composers created during their stay in this region.

Chlumecká delicacy

Specifically prepared pork leg, matured without feed in a mixture of herbs with salt, with lard overlap about 1 cm. Typical for its unique taste, like smoked. Made in Vysoký Chlumec at Sedlčany.
